About
Dr. Pankaj Popatrao Kanase is an active researcher, educator, and innovator in mathematics. He has 3 years of teaching experience. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with his doctoral thesis focusing on an analytical study of wave propagation in functionally graded structures. He qualified for the SET and holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from S.R.T.M. University, Nanded, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, both in Maharashtra.
His research work covers two main areas: pure mathematics and applied mathematics. In pure mathematics, he studies fractal geometry, and in applied mathematics, he focuses on theoretical seismology.

The propagation of elastic waves in functionally graded structures (FGSs), with particular attention to piezoelectric, magneto-electro-elastic (MEE), hard dielectric, and elastic media. The research addresses key challenges and recent developments in solid mechanics and theoretical seismology by deriving analytical solutions and dispersion relations. Through the application of asymptotic methods, numerical simulations, and graphical validation, the study offers a thorough analysis of wave behavior in various FGS configurations.
Research Interests
Theoretical seismology, Fractal geometry, Wave propogation
