Dr. Debnarayan Khatua is an Associate Professor of Mathematics with expertise in Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Operations Research, and Computational Data Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, where his research focused on fuzzy dynamical systems and optimization.
His research integrates advanced mathematical techniques with modern computational approaches to address interdisciplinary challenges in healthcare, engineering, environmental systems, and artificial intelligence. His current interests include mathematical epidemiology, optimization, scientific computing, explainable AI, machine learning, fuzzy systems, computational statistics, and data-driven modelling. He has published extensively in leading international journals, including Scientific Reports, Soft Computing, AIMS Mathematics, and the Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems.
Dr. Khatua has successfully supervised multidisciplinary research projects, organized international conferences and faculty development programmes, and served as an editor of international conference proceedings. His vision is to bridge rigorous mathematical theory with real-world computational applications, fostering innovative research and developing next-generation professionals equipped to solve complex scientific and industrial problems. Through research, teaching, and academic leadership, he is committed to advancing interdisciplinary collaborations and promoting excellence in mathematical sciences and computational technologies.
